Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 24, 2026
Lydian ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Lydian audiobook player application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.
By using Lydian, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect limited information necessary to operate and improve the App:
- Account Information: Email address and authentication details when you sign in.
- Usage Data: Interactions within the app (e.g., playback activity, feature usage).
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and diagnostic data.
- Crash & Performance Data: Error logs and performance metrics to improve stability.
We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial account numbers, precise location data, or biometric data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the App
- Enable audiobook playback and library features
- Provide Pro features (such as transcripts, character maps, and highlights)
- Improve performance and user experience
- Monitor and fix bugs or crashes
3. Support requests and diagnostic reports
The App includes two optional ways to reach us by email. You choose which to use; neither runs automatically.
- Contact Support: Opens a general help email with a short template. We receive minimal identifiers needed to assist you (for example, app version, platform, and basic account or device correlation fields such as a Firebase user ID and device fingerprint). This path is intended for everyday questions and does not attach full technical logs by default.
- Email diagnostics: Opens an email intended for bug reports and technical investigation. The message may include app version, platform, the same basic identifiers, summary billing verification status fields (where applicable), install and build provenance information (such as installer package and app signing certificate fingerprint), session continuity markers, and a bounded, redacted excerpt of in-app diagnostic logs. Diagnostic content is designed to avoid secrets such as Plex tokens; it may still include device and session details that help us reproduce issues.
Support emails are sent from your device using your mail app; we receive only what you send. For more detail on these options, see our Support page.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Subscriptions are processed through the Google Play Store. We do not collect or store payment information. Payment data is handled by Google in accordance with their privacy policies.
5. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate the App, including:
- Authentication providers
- Analytics and crash reporting tools (e.g., Firebase)
- Cloud infrastructure providers
These providers may process limited data solely to support app functionality.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may share limited information:
- With service providers who support app functionality
- To comply with legal obligations
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the App
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the App and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

12. External Links
